CRATE RAT Authorized Use Policy

CRATE RAT is a local-first desktop tool for DJs, producers, content creators, businesses, and other lawful users. It can retrieve an available audio track from a supported source, convert compatible media to an audio file, add metadata or artwork, verify the output, and save it locally.

CRATE RAT is a tool. It does not determine whether a link or use is legal, verify ownership, obtain permission, grant a license, or transfer rights in content.

The technical ability to access or process content does not mean that you are authorized to do so.

Before submitting a link or processing media, you must have all rights, permissions, licenses, consents, and other legal authority required to:

• access the source;
• download or reproduce the content;
• convert or format-shift it;
• store the resulting file;
• add, edit, or preserve metadata and artwork;
• use the file for your intended personal, professional, DJ, business, or client purpose; and
• copy, distribute, publish, perform, synchronize, transmit, or share it, if you intend to do any of those things.

Authorization for one activity does not automatically authorize another. For example, permission to stream or listen to a recording does not necessarily include permission to download, copy, distribute, publicly perform, remix, synchronize, or commercially exploit it.

Subject to the applicable license terms and law, appropriate uses may include:

• audio, video, recordings, performances, or other media you created and own;
• your own uploaded content or recordings for which you retained the necessary rights;
• content whose copyright owner expressly authorized you to download and use in the intended manner;
• content provided through an official download feature or service license that permits local downloading and the intended use;
• public-domain content;
• Creative Commons or similarly licensed content, when your use follows every applicable license condition;
• client-provided content when the client owns or controls the necessary rights and has authorized you to process it;
• properly licensed production music, DJ-pool content, promotional recordings, stems, samples, or sound effects, when the license permits the intended processing and use;
• government or institutional media that is legally available for the intended use; and
• content used pursuant to a valid legal exception that you have independently determined applies to your specific circumstances.

This list provides examples, not a guarantee that a particular use is lawful.

Most music, artwork, recordings, videos, and online media are protected by copyright. CRATE RAT does not prohibit all copyrighted material. It prohibits unauthorized use of copyrighted material.

You may process copyrighted content only when you own it, possess a sufficient license or permission, or have another valid legal basis for the exact activity you perform.

Merely identifying the creator, purchasing access, subscribing to a service, possessing a physical copy, finding content publicly online, or using content for a professional DJ engagement does not by itself establish every required right.

Some laws permit limited use of protected works without the owner's permission. In the United States, fair use is evaluated case by case under multiple factors. There is no automatic safe percentage, duration, file type, educational label, nonprofit label, or personal-use rule that guarantees fair use.

You—not CRATE RAT or Reign Unlimited LLC—are responsible for determining whether fair use, fair dealing, private-copying, quotation, education, archival, accessibility, interoperability, or another exception applies in your jurisdiction.

If your planned use depends on a legal exception and you are uncertain, obtain qualified legal advice before processing the content.

You may not use CRATE RAT to:

• download, reproduce, convert, store, or use content without sufficient authorization;
• facilitate copyright infringement, piracy, bootlegging, or unauthorized file sharing;
• obtain music, movies, broadcasts, audiobooks, courses, podcasts, streams, subscription content, or other media in violation of applicable law or source terms;
• bypass or attempt to bypass digital rights management (DRM), encryption, passwords, paywalls, login requirements, subscription controls, geographic restrictions, technical protection measures, or other access controls;
• evade rate limits, source restrictions, robots rules, security controls, or enforcement measures;
• access private, confidential, leaked, stolen, hacked, or unlawfully published material;
• remove, falsify, conceal, or materially alter copyright-management information, ownership information, attribution, license terms, watermarks, or source identifiers for an unlawful or misleading purpose;
• falsely claim ownership, permission, authorship, or license rights;
• download or use personal, intimate, biometric, medical, financial, or otherwise sensitive media without lawful authority and any required consent;
• harass, exploit, defame, impersonate, threaten, stalk, or violate another person's privacy, publicity, or personality rights;
• create or distribute unlawful, abusive, exploitative, or malicious content;
• distribute malware or harmful code;
• scrape, overload, attack, or disrupt a media source or third-party service;
• resell or operate CRATE RAT as an unauthorized download service for others; or
• instruct, encourage, or assist another person in prohibited use.

A CRATE RAT software license permits professional DJ, producer, creator, internal business, and lawful client work. That software license does not supply licenses for the media itself.

You remain responsible for obtaining any rights required for:

• public performance;
• reproduction or copying;
• distribution;
• synchronization with video;
• sampling or remixing;
• broadcasting or streaming;
• use in advertisements, podcasts, films, games, livestreams, venues, or client projects; and
• commercial exploitation of recordings, compositions, artwork, or metadata.

Venue, broadcaster, platform, record-pool, distributor, label, publisher, performing-rights organization, or client arrangements may cover some rights but not others. You must confirm the scope of the applicable authorization.

You must follow the terms, rules, licenses, and access restrictions of each media source or platform you use.

CRATE RAT's compatibility with a public link, source, format, or service does not mean that the source endorses CRATE RAT or permits downloading. Reign Unlimited LLC is not affiliated with or endorsed by a third-party media source unless expressly stated.

Company may disable or restrict support for a source when reasonably necessary because of law, source terms, security, technical changes, abuse, or third-party requests.

If you process media for a client, employer, venue, agency, collaborator, or other third party, you represent that:

• you are authorized to act for that party;
• that party owns or controls the necessary rights or has obtained sufficient permission;
• your processing and intended use fall within that authorization; and
• you will not rely solely on another person's unsupported statement when circumstances reasonably indicate that authorization may be absent.

You are responsible for retaining appropriate licenses, releases, permissions, contracts, receipts, or other evidence supporting the use.

Each time you use CRATE RAT, you represent and warrant that:

• you have reviewed the source and intended use;
• you possess sufficient authorization for every action performed;
• your use complies with applicable law and source terms;
• you are not bypassing DRM or access controls;
• you will not infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights; and
• information you provide to Company concerning authorization is accurate and not misleading.

CRATE RAT processes media locally and does not upload your media library, downloaded files, local history, metadata, artwork, or output folders to Reign Unlimited LLC during normal operation.

Local processing does not make an unauthorized use lawful, anonymous, untraceable, approved, or exempt from third-party terms. A media source may receive your request and network information directly from your device and may maintain its own records.

Reign Unlimited LLC does not routinely inspect, review, preapprove, or monitor the media you process locally. We do not represent that a source or file is authorized simply because CRATE RAT can technically process it.

The absence of monitoring does not limit your obligations or prevent Company from investigating credible reports of misuse using information lawfully available to it.

A report should identify the conduct at issue and provide enough accurate information for reasonable review. Because CRATE RAT does not host users' downloaded media, Company may not possess or be able to remove a locally stored file.

Company may preserve relevant records, request additional information, cooperate with lawful process, restrict a supported source, or take licensing action when reasonably appropriate.

If Company reasonably determines that a license is associated with prohibited conduct, Company may immediately:

• warn the user;
• restrict a feature or source;
• suspend or terminate the license;
• block activation or validation;
• preserve relevant records;
• deny support relating to prohibited use;
• report conduct where required by law; or
• cooperate with rights holders, platforms, service providers, or authorities as legally appropriate.

No cure period is required. Termination does not reverse a blockchain transaction or token burn and does not create a refund right except where applicable law requires one.

You are solely responsible for media you access, download, convert, store, distribute, perform, publish, transmit, or otherwise use through CRATE RAT.

The indemnification, warranty disclaimer, and liability limitations in the CRATE RAT Terms apply to this Authorized Use Policy, including claims arising from unauthorized content use, source-term violations, or infringement of third-party rights.

Company may update this policy prospectively to address changes in CRATE RAT, supported sources, third-party requirements, law, security, or abuse patterns. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide reasonable notice of material changes through the website, Software, checkout flow, or license email.

This Authorized Use Policy supplements the:

• CRATE RAT Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement;
• CRATE RAT Privacy Policy;
• applicable checkout disclosures; and
• Third-Party Notices.

If this policy conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control. Transaction-specific checkout terms control only for that transaction as described in the Terms.

Recommended checkbox language for checkout or first use:

I confirm that I will use CRATE RAT only with content I own or am legally authorized to download, convert, store, and use. I understand that CRATE RAT does not grant content rights and may not be used to bypass DRM, paywalls, logins, geographic restrictions, or other access controls.
